At Rutgers University, F.A.M.I.L.Y. has become the cornerstone of the football program. Head Football Coach Greg Schiano uses the message to motivate his players to not just sweat for one another, but to be willing to bleed and die for the team. He says, “F.A.M.I.L.Y. stands for Forget About Me I LOVE You … Forget About Me I SACRIFICE For You … LOVE is SACRIFICE”.
One of the greatest honors for One Strong Family, was when the entire team wore jerseys with F.A.M.I.L.Y. on the back, replacing the players names during games that were broadcasted live on ESPN.
