Since 1999, F.A.M.I.L.Y.® has been encouraging people to live a life of selfless, unconditional love by promoting the acronym ( Forget About Me I Love You™ ) and giving away F.A.M.I.L.Y.® wristbands to wear as a constant reminder to not be selfish.  To date, we've given away more than one million F.A.M.I.L.Y.® wristbands.

CASE STUDY:

RUTGERS UNIVERSITY

The acronym became popular among sports teams around the country as a powerful mantra for the TEAM to become a FAMILY - At Rutgers University, Head Football Coach Greg Schiano uses F.A.M.I.L.Y. to motivate his players to not just sweat for one another, but to be willing to bleed and die for one another.  He says, “F.A.M.I.L.Y. stands for Forget About Me I LOVE You … Forget About Me I SACRIFICE For You …  LOVE is SACRIFICE”.  

 

That might seem to be a heavy approach, but he was right, and it’s proved to be quite effective. The F.A.M.I.L.Y. message helped the team to be more unified, loyal and disciplined. As a result, they’ve experienced more success since using F.A.M.I.L.Y. as their motto than they ever had since 1869 … literally!

 

One of the greatest honors bestowed on One Strong Family, was when the team decided to replace their individual names from the backs of their jerseys, with F.A.M.I.L.Y. during a game that was broadcasted live on ESPN. They continued to use F.A.M.I.L.Y. on their jerseys at least once each season until the team entered The BIG-10 Conference, where the rules were more strict, not allowing brand slogans on jerseys.

 

Another proud moment for F.A.M.I.L.Y.  was when the team won The BIG EAST, under then Head Coach Kyle Flood. In a post interview, Coach Flood was quoted to say, “The F.A.M.I.L.Y. message is engraved in our heads, on our hearts, and on our Championship Rings ...F.A.M.I.L.Y. is here to stay".
